Paul Icard is an art director based in Paris. Born and raised in Provence, immersed in the region’s light, landscapes and colours, he has been passionate about painting, images and fashion since his early childhood. Studies in graphic design and typography enriched his visual universe, allowed him to meet figures working in the fashion industry and stimulated his passion for art direction and photography.
Drawing his influences from Herb Lubalin, Paul Rand and Peter Knapp among others, his style is of simple, colourful shapes. Letters and fonts allow for the telling of stories through images. He is closely connected to the world of photography and fine art. He understands the value that an image can hold in telling the story of a brand.
Constantly seeking out new collaborations and thriving when working among new talents, he has worked with photographers, stylists and artists including Anthony Seklaoui, Julien Martinez Leclerc, Nadine Ijewere, Brigitte Lacombe, Maripol, Melanie Ward, Emilie Kareh, Peter Philips and Guido Palau, among others. He is currently image manager at Christian Dior Couture.
